My skateboard lamp made it on the news! (Thanks to Bruce for the tip!)

Wall rack for my new ride.

I was recently invited by the AIGA St Louis to participate in one of their “Design for a Cause” events. Blank skateboard decks were provided to artists, designers, and illustrators, with instructions to intervene as we saw fit. The finished pieces will be auctioned off at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, with all proceeds going to their youth education programs.
As opposed to applying something graphic to the deck, I wanted to manipulate the material itself. Thus, the skateboard was broken down and reassembled into a wall hanging lamp.

The finished bed.
